Dr. Tatyana “Tanya” Spektor is excited to join University Ophthalmology Associates. She specializes in the medical and surgical management of corneal disease, as well as cataract surgery and comprehensive eye care. Dr. Spektor completed her bachelor’s degree at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, majoring in molecular biology. She then went on to receive her Doctor of Medicine at Loyola University in Chicago, graduating with honors in research. Afterwards, she completed her internship and ophthalmology residency at Rush University Medical Center, where she served as Chief Resident. Dr. Spektor then pursued a cornea and anterior segment fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.
Dr. Spektor is a board-certified ophthalmologist and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, and the Cornea Society. Her research is published in numerous medical journals and she has presented at national conferences. She feels privileged to be able to spend her time helping others improve and regain their vision.
