Dr. Hreem N. Patel is a board-certified and fellowship trained ophthalmologist specializing in the diagnosis, treatment, and surgical management of glaucoma, as well as cataracts, diabetic eye care, and other disorders of the eye in Chicago.

Hreem N. Patel is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist and Glaucoma Specialist who joined University Ophthalmology Associates in 2018. Dr. Patel specializes in the diagnosis, treatment and surgical management of glaucoma, as well as complex cataracts, diabetic eye care and other disorders of the eye.

Dr. Patel received her Bachelor of Arts in Biology degree from Washington University in St. Louis. She completed medical school at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia, and completed her residency at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, where she was Chief Resident. Dr. Patel went on to complete her fellowship in glaucoma at the Moran Eye Center, University of Utah.

Dr. Patel is an Assistant Professor at Rush University and the Associate Program Director of the residency program, where she helps further the education of future ophthalmologists. She remains as adjunct clinical faculty at the University of Utah and participates in their outreach program with charity work both domestically at Navajo Nation and internationally in Tanzania. In Chicago, she works closely with multiple clinics to improve access to ophthalmic care. She is a proud member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the American Glaucoma Society.
